Many of the features in the main search results column are reduced in height, meaning that some organic results, depending on the particular search query, could be pushed up on the page.
This is great news, especially for those who were disappointed when Google changed the search results to add 4 Ad Words ads at the top of the results page. So instead of trying to work within 55-60 characters maximum, you now have 70 characters before Google will add the ellipses (…) Descriptions are increased by 16-20 characters.
Funnily enough, even though Google clearly combines the two in search results as you can see above, the Structured Data Testing tool can throw an error for the combination.
If you see that it’s correctly setup in the structured data testing tool, but it’s not correct in Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools), try to update the content in Google’s cache by using Fetch as Googlebot.
You can use Google Posts to highlight current specials, give viewers a look at your products and services or even send them directly to a landing page where they could book an appointment or reservation!
You can even add a date range to a Post for time-sensitive specials.
